FROM THE FOUNDER OF BLYSS STUDIOS, KATE BOYD

Blyss was born during a deeply transformative chapter in my life - emerging from a quiet, almost meditative state of reflection and change.

As a mother and designer with over 20 years of experience, I found myself searching for something more meaningful - something that truly aligned with my values.

While preparing for the birth of my second son, I took part in a birth trauma course that combined shamanic journeying and art therapy. As part of the process, I was asked to choose an art form - and intuitively, I chose shibori. Through this ancient practice, I moved into colour and feeling - out of the mind and back into the body.

Shibori, with its softness, imperfection, and connection to nature, stayed with me.

Through that experience, something changed. I let go. I healed. And I went on to have the birth I had only dreamed of.

Shortly after my son Dakoda was born, we travelled to Indonesia, where Blyss began to take form.

I committed to creating with intention - using certified organic fabrics, and working alongside artisans who craft with integrity. I wanted to build something that felt good not only for the person wearing it, but for the earth it comes from.

In an industry so heavily reliant on petrochemicals and synthetic processes, Blyss was born from a desire to do things differently: to create in harmony with mother nature, while still offering something beautiful, directional, and deeply considered. Our pieces are dyed using wild plants, chosen not only for their exquisite colour, but for their natural, restorative qualities when worn.

Blyss is more than a brand. It’s a return - to self, to feeling, and to nature as healer.

I hope you love it as much as I do.
